The Kids’ Courier is the Pond Cove student newspaper by kids, for kids and about kids! All students, K-4, are invited to participate. Several weeks before each issue (usually 3 per year), interested students are invited to a meeting with the parent volunteers to learn how to participate. Kids can submit stories, interviews, cartoons, drawings, recipes, photographs, jokes, word searches, mazes, you name it — even banners for the front of the newspaper. They are given 2-3 few weeks to complete their work, which can be submitted via kid mail or The Kids’ Courier mailboxes in the school lobby or Media Center. Submissions may also be delivered digitally by emailing one of the co-chairs.

Parent volunteers are crucial to the success of this program. They help with the student meetings, scan submissions, type submissions, lay out the actual paper, send it to be printed, and deliver it around town.
