Pond Cove's Annual Arts Day held on April 7th, 2011 was fabulous. Beginning with the talented student musicians and performers greeting students at the entrance, to the buzz of excitement inside the school, it is clear that the Pond Cove Community pulled together for another amazing event. Over 100 parent volunteers helped 28 artists conduct 87 workshops. In the afternoon Troy Wunderle's Big Top Adventures performed an interactive circus show for the entire school.

Thanks so much to all of the artists and parent volunteers. We could not have done it without you. Enormous thanks to the fabulous, tireless Arts Day Committee: Co-Chairs Heather Mullen and Kathleen Curry-Sparks, Volunteer Coordinators Sarah Crawford and Kristine Eremita, and Artist Coordinator Lindsay Tucker.

Arts Day is an annual event where the entire school day is turned over to the arts. Approximately 30 visiting artists volunteer their time and talents with the school, bringing a wide variety of skills such as pottery, painting, architecture, dance, theater, weaving, sculpture, jewelry, karate, and fabric design. The day begins with talented student and adult musicians and performers greeting people at the entrance. All Pond Cove students then spend the morning on a variety of hands-on art workshops with a selection of our visiting artists. In the afternoon there is a performance for the entire school in the Cafetorium. In past years everyone has enjoyed performances by a circus-themed act, a multi-talented juggler as well as an illusionist-magician who thrilled the audience with his slights of hand.

2010 Arts Day
Arts Day provides the kids with a full day of creative expression and exposure to a wide variety of creative and dramatic arts.
