Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is one of the most beloved fundraisers on the PCPA calendar. It is also one of the most lucrative, averaging nearly $5,000 in profits annually over the last few years. The fair presents a terrific opportunity to get books into the hands of our children, see what popular titles are most sought-after by our teachers, and help fund the PCPA programs through your purchases.

2009 Book Fair Wrap-Up

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This year's book fair was a huge success thanks to all who helped and shopped! Reaching over $17,000 in sales enabled us to increase our potential profit from 25% cash to nearly 60% value using Scholastic's expanded profit reward system.

Responding to Scholastic's drop from 30% to 25% cash profit this year, we are opting for the "Scholastic dollars" instead, increasing the value of our earnings for the PCPA. Making this choice allows our teachers to purchase over $10,000 worth of goods from Scholastic, from Smartboards to library-bound books to resource materials for classrooms. In these difficult economic times, enabling teachers to get more of what they need into their classrooms NOW is more important than ever.
