About Mini-Grants
In keeping with its mission to enrich, support and enhance the social and learning environment of Pond Cove School, the PCPA offers Teacher Grants. These Mini-Grants, as they are often called, fund educational projects or tools that benefit students but are not afforded through the school budget. The PCPA discusses and votes on grant funding at our monthly meetings.
In the 2008-2009 school year the PCPA approved $9600 in Mini-Grants and $5700 in Technology Grants. Past years' Mini-Grants have included cameras for an art and poetry project, a 3rd-grade field trip to Peaks Island, books for a family book discussion, Legos, papyrus paper-making, literacy packs, upkeep of trails on Cape Elizabeth's greenbelt, science microscopes and software, prizes for the "Famous Mainer Contest," and much more. Grants have ranged from as little as $40 to as much as $1,800.
The generosity of the members of the Pond Cove Parents' Association (that's you!) together with the innovation of our great educators make an enormous impact on our school.
Please contact co-chairs Loralee Schaedel or Ashley Wernher-Collins if you have any questions regarding the PCPA Mini-Grant Program.
You can find Mini-Grant applications in the teacher mailroom, or you can download an application here.
